Placencia Peninsula, located in Southern Belize, was originally a small fishing village. Now, it's a popular tourist location hosting bars, and activities like snorkeling, kayaking, diving, fishing and whale shark searching.
Getting to Placencia can be challenging given there are only few buses which can take a lot longer with the slow nature of public transport. While a domestic flight is convenient, it is comparatively expensive. Taking a shuttle can be an excellent alternative for families and groups of friends.
A private transfer service gives you and your friends a few benefits including:
- comfort of having pitstops for restroom or food
- privacy for you and your group
- ability to customize your trip and stop at any time
- social distancing compared to public bus
- personalized service from a local guide
The road to Placencia is considered by many as a scenic route that passes through the Southern highway and the villages of Maya Beach and Seine Bight. One of those villages is home to the traditional Garifunas who have found settlement in Belize.
